Meet Brandon Chase McGee

fueled BY COMMUNITY

After years of diligently organizing in his community, Brandon Chase McGee boldly answered the call to step up and fight for a better Denton. He understands unequivocally that his seat on Denton City Council is for the hardworking people of Denton, not political parties or major corporations.

A lifelong leader, Brandon has never shied away from standing up for his community. Since his historic election win in May 2022, he has served proudly on Denton City Council. Before serving on city council, he also previously served on the city of Denton's Zoning Board of Adjustment. In addition, Brandon is a graduate of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute and the New Leaders Council, and formerly served on the board of Contemporary Ballet Dallas. He currently works full-time in the transportation industry.

Brandon is a proud graduate of both the University of North Texas and Collin College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree focused in history, dance, and social sciences.

a vision for the future

What separates Brandon apart from others is his vision for the future. He believes firmly that we cannot just make decisions for the next year or two, but instead make lasting decisions that will impact the future of Denton ten and twenty years down the line.

Mr. McGee believes a more perfect Denton is possible with a little work: a Denton where local government brings everyday, working citizens into the process. Every Dentonite deserves a voice on our city council, and as someone who has spent the majority of his life leading others, Brandon is that voice, and hopes he has proven so during his time on city council.

The mcgee family

Brandon is a loving father to two young daughters, and is a man of faith. Mr. McGee attends local Tri-Cities Church of Christ every week, and lives on the philosophy of Psalms 37:3: "Trust in the Lord and do good."

In his free time, Brandon enjoys spending time in nature, whether it be hiking, traveling, or simply exploring state and national parks. In addition, Mr. McGee is a lover of all things art, enjoys local art shows and concerts in Denton, and cheers on the UNT Mean Green at home games. As an advocate for responsible gun ownership and personal protection, he also enjoys spending time at gun ranges
